In November 2026, LIFE will begin a journey that goes far beyond the digital world.
From November 2026 to April 2027, an expedition to Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, is planned. Together with professional mountaineers, LIFE will travel to a place where familiar roads end and a true challenge begins.
The main goal of the expedition is to reach the summit of Everest, place a LIFE logo banner there, and capture a historic photograph of the mountaineers standing at the highest point on our planet.
This will make LIFE the first social network in the world to have its symbol placed directly on the summit of Mount Everest.
But this banner will be more than just a symbol of LIFE.
It will be a symbol of everyone who is moving forward with us.
Behind this logo are our users, their stories, photographs, ideas, dreams, and opportunities. Every person who becomes part of LIFE is, in a way, climbing higher with us.
When the mountaineers reach the summit, they will not simply bring a banner there. They will bring LIFE together with everyone who is part of this journey.
The Story of Everest
Everest has stood above the Himalayas for centuries, long before humanity could imagine reaching its summit.
For the people who have lived around the mountain, Everest has always been more than just a point on a map. In the Tibetan tradition, it is called Chomolungma, meaning “Goddess Mother of the World.” In Nepal, it is known as Sagarmatha, often translated as “Forehead of the Sky.”
Everest rises approximately 8,849 meters above sea level. At such an altitude, every step becomes a challenge. The air is significantly thinner, temperatures can fall to extreme levels, and weather conditions can change within minutes.
Yet it was precisely this seemingly unreachable summit that attracted people for generations.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Everest remained one of the greatest mysteries for mountaineers. Expeditions explored glaciers, searched for routes to the summit, crossed dangerous terrain, and returned to try again another day. Some of those who set out toward the summit never returned.
In 1924, British mountaineers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine set out to climb Everest. Their fate remains one of the greatest mysteries in the history of the mountain. They disappeared during the expedition, and for decades no one knew whether they had reached the summit. Their story became part of the legend of Everest.
On May 29, 1953, a moment occurred that would forever change the history of mountaineering. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mount Everest. After decades of attempts, humanity had finally reached the highest point on Earth.
The summit became a symbol of human determination.
Since then, thousands of people from around the world have travelled to the Himalayas to take on the mountain. Some followed a lifelong dream. Some came for a personal challenge. Others wanted to discover how far they could push themselves.

As part of the planned expedition from November 2026 to April 2027, a team of mountaineers will begin their journey toward the summit of Everest. And LIFE will go with them.
Our logo will follow the same path. From the very first step at the foot of the mountain to the highest point on Earth. With every meter upward, this journey will become part of the story of LIFE and everyone moving forward with us.
When the expedition reaches the summit, the LIFE banner will be raised on Everest. Thousands of meters above sea level. Where the air becomes thin. Where the familiar world ends. Where people can look down upon the Earth from above.
